An independent Hyderabad, aggressive India and Operation Polo History of India
An independent Hyderabad, aggressive India and Operation Polo History of India swallowing the small countries around it.

Hyderabadi pictures, Hyderabadi biryani, Hyderabadi medicine are very famous.  After Bangladeshi cricketer Mostafizur Rahman joined Hyderabad in the IPL and became the Hyderabad champion, the name gained more recognition among the younger generation.
And the southern picture, the treatment in Madras, for all these reasons Hyderabad is well known to us.
Hyderabad is known as the Deccan.

Those who have been to Hyderabad will know how much they hate Hindi.
People in this part of South India do not understand (or do not understand) Hindi.  They don't even learn Hindi.
They don't even consider themselves Indians.
I was quite surprised.  Even though they are Indian citizens, they do not understand or learn Hindi.
Again, they do not consider themselves Indian citizens.
The matter seemed quite strange to me.
I still do not know the history of Hyderabad's subjugation.

When the British left the subcontinent, India gave three states of the year three options.
 1.  Staying with India  Stay with Pakistan or 3.  To be independent of oneself.

Most of the territories joined India.  Muslim-majority areas joined Pakistan.  India later occupied some territories that wanted to join Pakistan and remain independent.  Among them Trivandrum, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Jumma-Kashmir, Junagadh, etc. are worth mentioning.
Only a handful of regions chose the third option and decided to remain independent.
Of these, Hyderabad and Sikkim are particularly notable.
By the time Britain left the Indian subcontinent, tired of World War II, there were more than 500 small states in the subcontinent.  Some of the direct British ruled provinces went to Pakistan, while others remained with India.  There were also many states in India which were ruled not by the British but by many independent kings (for example Kashmir, which was ruled by the Hindu Maharaja Hari Singh).
It was ruled by Hyderabad, Nizam or Nawab.
The largest, richest and most powerful of these states was Hyderabad.  Hyderabad had its own army, airlines, central bank and currency.  There was internal rail communication system.  The population was more than one and a half crore.

The then Nizam-ul-Mulk Usman Ali Khan of Hyderabad was the richest man in the world at that time.
Nizam-ul-Mulk, the ruler of Hyderabad, decided to keep Hyderabad independent.  After the departure of the British, India and Pakistan as well as Hyderabad gained independence on the same day.
The ruler of Hyderabad was Nizam-ul-Muluk Sir Mir Osman Ali Khan Asaf Jah (7th Asaf Jah).
He was the richest man in the world at that time.  Time magazine of America covered him on February 22, 1936
The article recognizes him as the richest man in the world

His contribution is Nizamsagar Lake in Andhra Pradesh, Osmania University in Hyderabad, Bank of Hyderabad.
Even in Jamia Nizamia, Darul Uloom Deoband, Banaras Hindu University and Aligarh Muslim University he has made huge contributions, he was the biggest donor.
In 1947, Nizam Osman Ali Khan presented a necklace inlaid with diamonds and tires to Princess Elizabeth on the occasion of his marriage.  This is known as the rate of Nizam of Hyderabad.

India is an independent Muslim country in the middle.  India could not accept it in any way.
The then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru called on Nizam to unite with India.
But the Nawab rejected the call and said that Hyderabad was independent before and will remain independent.  Nehru tried to apply pressure in various ways.  Doesn't work.
The problem is that Hyderabad is many times better than India in all aspects of education, economy, medicine, roads.  Not small in size.  Larger than any other province in India.  Larger than modern France.
(Occupied Hyderabad was later divided into three states.)
It had its own currency, army, airlines, banks, different national anthems, different state languages.  Had its own representative at the UN.  There were ambassadors to different countries.
It was decided in Delhi that Hyderabad should be brought under Delhi by any means.  The original planner was Gujarati 'Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel'.  Who has already shown success in capturing Junagadh.
An independent country cannot be attacked directly.  Need an excuse.  Extremist Hindu nationalist groups began assassinating Muslim zamindars and high-ranking officials, led by communists, inside Hyderabad, fueled by India.  According to one estimate, about two thousand people were killed.  According to the plan of the Indian intelligence agency, Muslim leaders as well as some Hindu leaders (who would be of no use to India) were killed.  The main culprit behind the assassination was the Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) (later known as RAW under Indira Gandhi and now known as RAW).
The then director of IB was Sanjeev Pillai.
 Indian intelligence is very successful.
The killing of a Muslim leader and a Hindu leader has led to growing bitterness between ordinary Muslims and ordinary Hindus.  Meanwhile, the communists, led by Ugrahindus, have been carrying out assassinations.
To bring the situation under control, the Nizam assigned the responsibility of preventing the killings to the razakars (meaning volunteer forces in Bengali) made up of local youths.  Razakars also launched a crackdown on communists, and the accused were executed.
The communists were almost all Hindus, so the Indian government seized the opportunity.  The long awaited excuse of capturing Hyderabad is now in their hands;  They propagated that extremist Muslim razakars were killing Hindus at a wholesale rate.
India has launched an international campaign claiming that Hindus are being persecuted.
There was no TV, no internet.  Ordinary people do not know anything about it then.  Even those who have been accused of being tortured by India do not know anything about it.

 September 13, 1948.
The people of the newly independent country are busy with their daily activities.  Mothers are playing with children.  The children are running around in the field.  Teachers are teaching students in the classroom.  The flag of independent Hyderabad is flying in the court.
No one knew it was their last day as an independent nation.  Some people even think in nightmares.

Without provocation under the symbolic name 'Operation Polo', the Indian Army entered the independent sovereign Hyderabad from all sides.

The world was told that they had come to help the persecuted Hindus.  Just a little police operation.
Hundreds of thousands of Indian troops entered Hyderabad that day.
Looting, murder, rape, arson started.  People are burned alive.  Village after village was set on fire.  Evergreen Hyderabad turned to ashes, ashes and death wells on the first day.  Patriotic Hindus were not spared either.  They did not ask Hindus or Muslims before burning the village.  Did not ask whether Hindu or Muslim before the rape!  The people of Hyderabad were burnt alive along with their houses.
The girls had already been taken away in a truck, the fate of which is still unknown.
On the second day, some local politicians and businessmen joined hands with the Indian army.
Extremist Hindus also joined the Indian Army.  Looting, murder continues.  On the one hand, innocent Hindus are being beaten along with Muslims by the Indian Army.  On the other hand, extremist Hindus are helping them.
The main target was of course the Muslims.
The number of Hindu casualties is small.
Pandit Sundarlal mentioned in his investigation report,
"Indian forces did not stop looting themselves, they also forced local Hindus to kill and loot Muslims."
In the beginning, they were killed indiscriminately, but later Muslims were killed selectively.
The Hyderabad Army resisted.  They are fighting hard against the Indian Army.
In contrast to the Indian army of lakhs, the army of Hyderabad was only 6,000.  And with them the number of volunteer organization Razakar was 20 thousand.
This number is nothing compared to the millions of Indian Army.  Massive bloodshed and loss of life took place. Eventually the army of independent Hyderabad was defeated.  Hyderabad was defeated.
Nearly one million people were killed in the 7-day bloody war and the post-war genocide.
On the morning of 18 September, Major General Syed Ahmed L. Edrus, Chief of Army Staff of Hyderabad, surrendered to Indian Major General Jayant Nath Chowdhury at Secunderabad.  Hyderabad lost its independence and became a province of India. This massacre is known in history as 'Operation Polo'.
India named the operation 'Operation Polo'.  (Hyderabad-Deccan had the largest field of polo in all of India.)
Hyderabad finally came under Indian occupation on 16 September.  Hyderabadi freedom fighters and members of the army were charged with Indian Arms Act and sedition.  Most were hanged. The operation caused a great deal of havoc for the locals.  The situation in the Marathwada region in particular was dire.
In an article entitled "Hyderabad: A Muslim Tragedy", Professor Wilfred Cantwell Smith, referring to the testimony of conscientious Hindu eyewitnesses, wrote:
"After the war stopped, Muslims (in general) were severely beaten and brutally attacked.  Survivors of the devastation were also left in a state of panic.  Thousands of them were killed and hundreds of thousands were evicted.  These heinous operations were carried out under the pretext of avenging the alleged violence by the allies of the Muslim forces. ”  (The Middle-East Journal, Volume 4, published in 1950)
The UN was silent that day.  Even the UN Security Council meeting was postponed.

Sir Mir Layek Ali, the last Prime Minister of independent Hyderabad, wrote in his book 'Tragedy of Hyderabad' that when India attacked Hyderabad with its 6 Division troops, the Permanent Representative of Hyderabad stood at the UN and shouted, 'India is occupying my country.  You do something.  Save Hyderabad. ”Due to strong India, its allies the United Kingdom and the United States, the Security Council failed to pass a resolution that day.
